10,000 Words or bust

Not sure what will bust, but I'm going for the 10,000 words this week.

Day two and I'm still pretty pumped about it. I've written about 2,300 words so far and I'm pressing onto the next chapter. I'm really excited about where the story's going and what's happening. I can't wait for my CP's to read it.

One thing I've figured out, that writing action comes a lot faster for me. I don't know if its because I set myself up for this scene a few weeks ago and my head's been playing with it while I sleep. Or because it's simply easier to write action. The sentences are shorter, you get to use a lot of active verbs, and for me, even the description is falling into line.

I'm not sure if it's because I set this self-imposted deadline that the story's gaining momentum, or if it's just because it's time. Whatever the reason, I'm loving it. When writing flows, it's the best feeling in the world.

  1. Glad it's going so well, Margie. If it makes writing action easy, I'm all for it!

  2. Way to go!
I suck at action, but it's something you guys usually comment on (in a good way). I love dialogue, though.
Keep up the good work, Margie!
    Can't wait to read it.

  4. Yay, Margie!

If I can get a solid 2500 in today, I'll hit my mark, too.
