Back to Brainstorming...

The brainstorming never ends.

I'm nearing the end of my book and I've been brainstorming
quite a bit.

I have a character in search of a nickname. I
know his real name, who he is, who he was, but that won't be revealed until the end.

He's a fed undercover as a carny. His name has to mean something to the main character because Bix is the one who coins the nickname.

This character started out as "fish carny". That quickly morphed into Fife--as in Barney Fife, except:

A) Andy Griffith is way too dated--sorry Don Knotts and
B) My fed/fish carny is fit and muscular.

Then I opted for Booth (as in Seely Booth, Bones' Booth) but since part of the action takes place in a carnival and more at a shooting range, I have a conflict of booths.

Plus, Bix is a sci-fi geek at heart. There's always Jack. Jack O'Neill, Daniel Jackson, Captain Jack Harkness, Jack Bauer (not sci-fi, but kick ass), along with a myriad of Jacks--Jack Shepard, Jack Malone...

BTW, I'm open to suggestions.

Comments

  1. How about Solo? Han Solo - sci fi, Napolean Solo (Man fron Uncle)- secret agent. And if he's undercover, he's probably working solo most of the time.

  2. There is a ton of emphasis on super hero movies right now, w/superman rebooting, captain america, green lantern, etc. Maybe mine some of those for ideas?

  3. Dang. All I know is, the pic of Booth showed up on your FB page with the imported blog post, so I had to come see!

    I love that guy.

    So inspiring...

  4. Oh, man, I'm too dated, too. Since I am, I tumble back a century or two. Traveler? As in R. E. Lee's dependable horse. Watson? Doc, as in Holliday?

    Okay, back to my rocker...

  5. The incredible hulk? David Banner?

  6. Not a clue, but like April, I had to come by to see the hot guys. And I'm glad I did.

  7. Thanks everyone for stopping by and for your suggestions. I think Solo is a good one and I think I'm going to play around with that and see if it works out.
