Drooling Over Hot Guys - Just Another Day On The Job!

Watching TV last night, I saw an ad for Bradley Cooper's new movie Limitless. Aside from the fact it looks like a terrific flick, what I noticed most was how hot he looked in the ad. Like he did in The Hangover. Got my brain clicking and hormones stirring a bit. So his name went on my list.

Yep, I've got a list of extremely hot guys I carry around with me - strictly for business purposes, of course. Maybe it's just me, but when I spend 98,000 words on a hero, he's got to be based on a physical model. I need that visual, visceral burst of sexuality to inspire me. In my book Act Like We're In Love, I based the hero on the yummy hunk of man you see to the right; Eric Dane (better known as McSteamy on Grey's Anatomy). Can't tell you the number of hours I spent with my eyes closed, picturing him with muscles bulging past his short sleeves, shirtless, even pantsless. Gosh, I love my job!

Of course, finding just the right guy takes research. Which is why I carry around a list of men who make me sit up and take notice. Are they interchangeable? No way. This weekend's fixation on Bradley Cooper was momentarily fun, but he definitely isn't right for any one of my next three books. Someday, though, his physical characteristics will mesh with my idea of a hero. Despite my list, I get stumped. In the 3rd book of my in-the-works trilogy, the hero is British. Not Hugh Grant, and not Daniel Craig, but something in between. Nobody on my list fit the bill. Which is a problem, because he gets introduced in book 1. I'm still looking - and will happily take any suggestions.

Meanwhile, I shall toil away, slogging through sexy pictures on the Internet and avidly watching movies. Did I mention how much I love my job?

  1. Nice picture! I've always found Shemar Moore drool worthy. I'm also a sucker for big arms and chests.

  2. I've loved Bradley Cooper since Alias.

British guys--how about Rufus Sewell or James McAvoy or Jonathon Rhys Meyers (loved him in Bend in like Beckham)or Christian Bale--who rarely plays an Englishman and always surprises me when I hear his accent. And lastly, John Barrowman who is Capt. Jack Harkness on Torchwood.

  3. My British guy is Colin Firth. Not an alpha, for sure, and that's okay!

  4. Okay, I know he's technically Irish (at least I think) but what about Gerard Butler? YUM!!

thanks for sharing the Bradley love -- I've been panting after that trailer (and the new Hangover trailer) for a couple weeks now! :)
