My Obsession

I am addicted to Legos. This picture is just a small representation of my obsession. I have a couple of kits I haven't completed and bins of sorted legos.

When Jordan was in grade school, I bought her a bunch of the Harry Potter Legos for Christmas and then proceeded to put them together, because she wasn't doing them fast enough. And then--oh the shame--She had to ask to play with them.

For our 28th anniversary this year, my husband got me a Toy Story set. Yeah, skip the jewels for me, I just want little bricks of plastic.

One of my favorite things is to get the mini-fig mystery packs. They're cheap--in Lego terms--and it's always a surprise. Win-Win. If I get a duplicate I pass it off to one of my nephews who share my obsession--yeah, I'm not so sure my sister is that thrilled with me for introducing them to Legos.

So, in series 8, I got a cowgirl. She was really cute--you know as cute as a plastic, square-headed girl can be. And she had blond ponytail. And she reminded me of D'Ann. So, I set her aside, thinking I should send it on to D. But then I have three other wonderful critique partners and blogmates, and I didn't have something to send to them. So, I waited.

I got a computer geek, an olympic swimmer, a santa, but nothing that screamed send this to Liz or Kristi or Shawn. So I waited some more.

And then my nephew brought me a mini-fig he didn't want--a cheerleader. And I knew I had the "one". But  I needed three. So, I spent a lot of time feeling out little Lego mini-fig packages and finally came up with two more. So I mailed them all off to my friends.

So, this blog is for them, so they'll understand how those little surprises came about and see what each of them got. And maybe understand how much I love and appreciate them all to part with my prized blockheads.

    1. Okay. Now when I see Coke stuff, I'm going to think of you :)
A good friend of mine is a Coke salesperson and she's also a big fan of coke. Of course, they pay her quite well to be a fan. LOL

  2. I love your obsession, too, AND my cheerleader. I love how special all the Wranglers are. I like to think I have no obsessions, but I do have this little thing going on about snowmen...and it's just the perfect time of the year... Great post, Margie, and thanks again!

    1. Oh, Liz. There is a bazaar artist who specializes in snowmen plates and they are oh, oh, so cute :) I'll try to remember to take a picture of mine when I get my Christmas stuff out. Every year, we ooh and ahh over her stuff.

  3. Me and grand baby were playing with Legos this past weekend. My son kept them since he was little and thought she would get a kick out of them. She liked playing with them so much she didn't want to go home when her dad cane to pick her up! Great post!

    1. Love her! I used to as my sister if my nephews were into Legos and she kept telling me they had no interest, so one day when I was watching them, I pulled out my Legos. LOL. That was it for her.

They now have a girl's line called Friends--and I love them. It's like having a doll house and legos all in one. I actually just like the building part. It's like a really, expensive jigsaw puzzle.

  4. I LOVE the cowgirl. SO much. She's looking at me right now. I sat her on the computer terminal so she could remind me of my friends. Thank you, Margie. Hugs.

  5. Fun. We had bins of the things when my son was young. I made him take them when he got married.
