Party Like a Rock Star (Or at Least Like a 46 Year Old)

Hello there everyone! This week we're talking what we did during our time off. I took the time to do what I've needed for a long time. I took a vacation! Hubby and I went to a couples only resort in Cancun. Sun Palace knows how to spoil a couple. We spent the day lounging by the pool, exploring the Mayan ruins, and eating a variety of foods we've never tried. The couple's massage was my favorite. Hubby fell asleep on the table and started snoring. I was trying not to laugh. The ocean view was amazing and we got up extra early just to watch the sunrise from our balcony. There was a huge Jacuzzi in the middle of the room that I wished I could take home with me. And who could have a problem with twenty-four hour room service? While on vacation, I met a very interesting couple. The man introduced himself as Vhine Reynolds. His companion talked a lot, but wouldn't tell me her name. The next day, when we talked she finally revealed her name. Sonata. Didn't get a last name but that's not important. That's right folks, in the middle of my romantic vacation, the characters for my next story popped up. Love the hero, not sure how I feel about the heroine yet. She seems to have a lot of issues. I can't to find out what they are! When hubby and I came home, it was back to the same old grind. Unpacking, going to the day jobs, and coming home exhausted. I found out my new novella, Ella Ever After, was being released early. Instant panic. I wasn't ready. So I spent the next few days in total chaos. I had no idea how I was going to promote this on such short notice. Twenty-four hours. I was supposed to have another few months to get that together. Hubby gave me a woooosaa moment. That's what I call the time I spend trying to calm down and get myself together. He took me to the Renaissance Fair and we had a great time. We ate turkey legs, watched a jousting tournament(the guy who wore my favors won) watched acrobats juggle knives, bought a sword (actually hubby bought a sword) and enjoyed the costumes of all the patrons and employee of the fair. I bought some really cool Chinese fans. I have a lot of personal summers, so the fans will come in handy. Loved the hookah lounge! So what did I learn during my time off? Yes, you gotta work hard to get what you want in life. But you have to play hard too. If you don't, what's the point? Sorry no pics, but for some reason blogger is not letting me post any.

  1. Well, if we were having a contest, I'd say you had the most fun on your month off! I'll bet that was hilarious when your hubs fell asleep. Good luck with the new release. Your cover is dishy!

  2. thanks, liz. And yes, hubby was embarrassed when he woke up on the table. I think that's the first time I've ever seen him blush.
