A Little Laughter

Orison Swett Marden once said, "A good laugh makes us better friends with ourselves and everybody around us."

I love a good laugh. I've been known to laugh until I cry and my favorite thing in the world is a good belly laugh. RadioMan's goofiness, bebe's thoughts on, well, anything and my own silliness make me laugh. A great 'you won't believe this' kind of story. Last month at my RWA chapter retreat there was a running joke about assisted living facilities and - one several occasions - I laughed until I thought I'd have to run to the bathroom.

Romantic comedies are my favorite movies. Rom-coms are some of my favorite books. I love romantic banter and hijinks. I think Jennifer Crusie is genius in her ability to write funny moments that are also heartwarming and Susan Elizabeth Phillips has a way with characters that are flawed and sometimes silly but so rootable.

It's been a crazy few days here - RadioMan's fighting a cold, bebe's struggling with the time change, I'm on deadline...so I've been seeking out laughter in my books and television. I completely lost myself in a Modern Family marathon the other night and I re-read Jennifer Crusie's Faking It over the weekend.

But nothing is sweeter than a baby's laugh. And so I leave you today with these baby laughs...hope you all have a wonderful day!

  1. Fun post! I love to laugh and make people laugh. If I'm around someone who laughs at my jokes, I tend to go into hyper-comic drive. I laugh hardest with my sisters.

And the author who always makes me laugh is Sophie Kinsella. If you haven't read I've Got Your Number, you should. There is a scene in there where I was almost falling off the couch from laughing so hard.
