My writer peep, Lisa Caviness, just did a cover reveal yesterday for her latest book, Order of Malice. Book Two in her The Order Series, Order of Malice will be available in June, but I wanted to showcase her cover reveal for a few reasons:
She's my peep and I love supporting friends. She writes a wicked-good romantic suspense book (I tell you, it's always the quiet ones you have to keep an eye out for!). And I LOVE this cover.
As a romantic suspense, Lisa has more leeway with her covers. As much as I love the hot man chest (case in point: my own covers), it's nice eye-relief to have something else. No worry about the cover models not matching the physical traits of the actual characters (sorry, Liz :-). And the subtleties make all the difference. The red, like splashes of blood. The house looming over the reader ominously (I get a serious "The Shining" vibe here, where the building is as much a character in the movie as the people. Gettin' the willies just thinking about it!). The stoic evergreens as silent observers.
Yep... willies!
