A defining moment in time

The fourth Christmas Town anthology, Heartwarming Holiday Wishes, is being released October 10. If you haven't already pre-ordered your copy, go ahead--I'll wait.

No, wait, I'm kidding. I mean, I'll be glad if you order it no matter when it is. But there's more to it than just that. I love Christmas Town and its stories and the authors I get to work with. I love that while this is an indie-published boxed set, as have been the two before it, A Heartwarming Christmas and A Heartwarming Holiday, the Christmas Town stories were born in Christmas, Actually a 2014 Harlequin Heartwarming release by Melinda Curtis, Anna Adams, and Anna J. Stewart. It was Melinda and the Annas who conceived the idea of going back to Christmas Town every year. Harlequin didn't want to to along, but they did nothing to stand in the authors' way.

We all have defining moments in our careers. First sales. Favorite books. New publishers. Going indie. Going trad. Saying I write romance with the words Wanna make something of it? echoing unsaid into the silence that follows.

The day in January of 2015 when Melinda Curtis asked me to join the Christmas Town Chroniclers (we don't really call ourselves that--I just made it up) was one of those defining moments. When I was invited back not only a second but a third time, I have been as excited as I was the first. It is an honor working with the other women in the anthologies. And it is so much fun.

Speaking of fun, here's the "stuff" on this year's anthology, just in case you'd forgotten. My story is Miracle on Joyful Street. It's the first time I've ever had a heroine who's a librarian. I don't think it will be the last.

But before I go to that, I should tell you defining moments are the them for this week on Word Wranglers, so keep an eye out for Nan, Kristi, Margie, Ava, and Jana's posts. And let us know what some of your defining moments have been.

Have a great week.
