I'm running late this morning, shoveling down my steel oats and coffee to get this posted before I have to leave for work. So, were doing a little bit of this and little bit of that this morning since cohesive thoughts aren't on the menu.
I saw a post of Facebook a while back about vending machines for the homeless. They get an access card and are able to make three "purchases" a day from a vending machine--think the sandwich machine in a hospital corridor nook--that has fresh fruit as well as hand warmers and socks. I think this is a wonderful idea that should go continental.
I just finished this book--in fact, I didn't shower yesterday until the afternoon because I couldn't put it down. I may have guessed a couple of twists, but not all. And not enough that I got frustrated with the book--which, believe me has happened in the past. If you're looking for a good suburban psycho thriller, here you go...
I wrote another five pages this week! Nothing in the past couple of days (see previous paragraph), but I'm okay with that. I work today and tomorrow and then have five days off for my birthday next Wednesday. Doesn't everyone take five days off for their 56th birthday? Ohhh, wouldn't it be nice if we got paid days off to match our age??? That sounds fair.
We're stuck pretty much in a wet spell here in the Pacific NW, but at least our rivers aren't flooding--my heart goes out to my dream destination, Paris. Yes, I do have the news on as I write this. Don't judge me.
Moxie avoiding the gate installation |
Last
night I had to replace the baby gate that separates the cats and dog
from coexisting. The cats get half the hallway and two bedrooms. The dog
gets the rest of the house. Now, our dog is a terrier-chihuahua and
suffers from anxiety--seriously, the dog is afraid of everything. She
attacks if you move a leg under a blanket. Once she jumped into my
office chair, causing it to roll. She spent the next few hours barking
at the chair. She attacks boxes that are delivered via UPS, because they
were brought to the door. This is where she ended up as I put up the new gate.
And this is where I bid you good day! Have a great Thursday!
Yay for 5 pages! And poor Moxie, it's so hard to be little and askeered of boxes!
ReplyDeleteOh, but she’s so tough when she attacks them. Lol
DeleteWow on five pages!! Enjoy your birthday week!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI love the idea of vending machines for the homeless. It sounds like a great idea, but it's probably only a start.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the five pages. Keep it up!
Yep, but it sounds like a good start. Thanks, I’ll try.
DeleteGood for you, Margie! I like the idea of the vending machines, too. I love to find a book I can't put down.
