My Mind is a Wonderland

Remember a few weeks ago, I chose Proactivate for my year's word?  So far, I have been highly unsuccessful in this endeavor.

My house is still cluttered and need in a good Spring cleaning. Or you know, any sort of cleaning.

The path through the garage has actually shrunk--although that might be an optical illusion from the pile of ever-growing Amazon boxes that seem to never get broken down and put into recycling (Yes, I'm looking at you, KB).

Last week I worked a string of overnight shifts. Prior to those six days, I had delusions of productive grandeur in my head. I thought I could sustain myself on a few hours of sleep and write when I would normally be working,

And now, four days later, I'm still in sleep-deprivation recovery. My body doesn't bounce back quite as quickly as it did say, 10-14 years ago. I wish I would've thought of that when I volunteered for this torture assignment.

Honestly, it's a miracle I got this blog up since I've been sitting in front of a blank page and blinking courser while I skimmed SVU episodes. My mind was as blank as the page. I couldn't even think of enough filler to do a hodge-podge post.

I have no great words of wisdom to impart, except maybe, don't believe the voice in your head--she's a dreamer of dreams who flees at the first sign of reality...

Have a great weekend!

  2. the best laid plans, right, Margie! I so feel your pain - and "torture assignment" is the perfect descriptor for working overnights!! Here's to recovering this weekend!

  3. I can't do much of anything if I don't get enough sleep. I can't even imagine working an overnight shift because I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to sleep during the day. I'd be useless! So give yourself a break, recover, and try again. Cheers, Margie!
