Hey, WordWrangler readers, we've invited FAB author, Rue Allyn and the heroine of her book, Sara Anne to the Round Corral this Sunday morning! Sara Anne's got a cowboy-sized problem and you can read all about it in Rue's brand new book. Her Cadillac Cowboy (is that a great title or what???). Take it away, Rue (and Sara Anne, too)!
Dear Readers,
I have a huge problem and am in great need of objective advice. You see I’ve fallen back in love with a man who, years ago, hurt me and my family. His name is Josh McKinley, and he owns a classic Cadillac Orleans that essentially his uncle stole from my father in payment for the divorce my mother filed. Afterward, she deserted us. My father has hated the entire McKinley family ever since.
I dated Josh McKinley for a while in high school. He was so kind and nice and handsome, I thought my father was wrong to hate him just because his last name was McKinley. But Dad was right, and I was wrong. One day directly after our date, I saw Josh making out (to put it politely) with that hussy Lurlene Biggers. Shortly after that, he left Luville to ride the rodeo circuit. The following year I left for college.
I had decided not to return to Luville, because my greatest dream—to run Carson’s Cars—would never come true. Father didn’t think a girl should work in that kind of business. He’d built Carson’s
into the best dealership in Texas for my brother, who has no interest whatever in running the dealership.
My father has had a heart attack. My brother wants to leave town. I will live my dream temporarily, but to my surprise, Josh McKinley has also returned to Luville. He drives that darned car everywhere, and worse, for business reasons he is blocking Carson’s expansion plans.
To get him to see reason, I’ve protested and done everything possible short of begging. Now he wants me to go out to dinner with him before he’ll listen to any more of my suggestions for resolving our business issues.
Friends, how can I do that? He hurt me, and my family. Luville is a small town. If I go out with Josh, even once, the gossip mill will have me married to him and pregnant with his child before our date could be over. It’s not fair that he should ask me out. He knows what that will do to my reputation, and my standing with other business owners. They’ll never take me seriously as head of Carson’s Cars—even temporarily—if I’m seen as Josh McKinley’s play thing.
And then there’s my father. He’s only just beginning to recover from one heart attack. If I date a McKinley, he might well suffer another attack, and that could be fatal. There are other complicating factors, but I think you can see my dilemma.
What should I do? What can I do?
Sincerely, and in desperate need of advice, which you may leave in the comments below.

Blurb for Her Cadillac Cowboy:
A rich cowboy with a classic Cadillac—sounds like the stuff of dreams for a small-town Texas girl, right? Wrong! Josh McKinley and his classic car have been Sara Carson’s nightmare since Josh left ten years ago. Now the cowboy and his Caddy are back. Sara must choose between loyalty to her family and love for the one man she shouldn’t want.
Is the key to Sara Carson’s heart the Cadillac that their families have been feuding over for ten years? Or will Josh McKinley have to give up the car he treasures in order to win the woman he loves?
About Rue Allyn: Hi, I’m Rue Allyn, I write heart melting romance novels. Books about characters and adventures in which love triumphs at the darkest moment. The kind of hopeful, steal-your-breath romance that melts a reader’s heart. The type of book I like to read. Hope you will too.
