Reboot and Begin Again...

by Margie Senechal

I love beginnings.

The beginnings of new stories, when everything is possible. You know, the part before the real work begins, before the middle sags, before the end eludes.

This might explain the endless files filled with 10-50 pages of story starts in my filed cabinets. Sure, I've finished eight books and if you count Bix, you can double that, because I'm on my ninth rewrite--not actively at the moment, but it's there in the recesses waiting.

It's too bad we can't reboot life like we can a manuscript. LOL I'm listening to the news as I type this. Politics is on the tube with the Iowa scuf-fuffle. Sometimes it feels like we're living in a novel, doesn't it?

Quick! Turn the page.

Coronavirus. Ugh. Richard Preston nightmare.

Okay. Happy news. Last post I shared that my youngest sister had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Well, tests have been done and confirmed good news that she's at stage 0. I didn't even know there was a stage 0 cancer. Good news and learned something.

KB reported to jury duty and got seated on a trial that is expected to last 3-4 weeks. Weeks, people. It's a good thing she works for such a great company and won't be penalized--monetarily or professionally.

The end. It's time for me to head to work.

Okay, here's a work story real quick.
I work in a store that is pretty inner-city for Vancouver. Yesterday I got to work and the parking lot was just trashed and our daily papers had been stolen. Turned out that someone (homeless?) had used the papers to start fires in front of the building and a couple of spots in the parking lot.

That was a new situation that hadn't happened before. Hopefully, today starts out better.

After all, today is a new beginning...

  2. Yes, I love the beginnings of stories too. It's the middle that gets sticky for me. Wonderful news about your sister. I had no idea there was a stage 0 either, but if you're going to have cancer, stage 0 is definitely where you want to be. Hugs, Margie!

  4. beginnings are my favorite, Margie!

And I'm so glad your sister's prognosis is good!

And yay for KB's trial settling - as interesting as I think being on a jury would be ... that is a L O N G trial expectation. :)

    1. Yes, it is. Especially if you love your job and feel like you're letting people down because you're unavailable.
