Heavy, happy sigh....

Have you ever read an author interview in which they're asked, "What is the one book we'd be surprised you've never read?"

Okay, let's just get this out in the open, whenever I read an author interview, I always answer the questions in my head. You know, prepping for the day that I will be asked these questions.

Now, back to my original question. For me the answer would be Outlander by Diana Gabaldon.

I LOVE time travel books. A Knight In Shining Armor by Jude Devereaux is at the top of my all-time favorite books. And I always get happy to see a new Gwyn Cready book is on the shelf.

So, why hadn't I ever read Outlander? I don't know. I tried once and just couldn't get into it. And then I never tried again.

But this weekend, Diana Gabaldon is the keynote speaker at the Willamette Writer's Conference banquet dinner. I'm not planning on going, although I may change my mind before Saturday. You know why?

Because I finally read the book. Last weekend. I did nothing but read that wonderful, time traveling tome.

And oh, my heart be still, but it's going to be a Starz series. I'm kind of counting down to the premiere next weekend.

D'Ann can keep her cowboys, I'm all about men in 18th century kilts. As if I needed a new obsession.

  1. LOL. I haven't read it--like you, I couldn't get into it--but enough people love it that I know I'm missing something great. Now, about men with kilts? Yeah, I'm in.

    2. Ha! I knew it was you. I'd be worried if Duane was into men with kilts. LOL

Once I got into it, I couldn't put it down. Honestly. I got the second one, but I'm trying to concentrate on writing and getting chores done. And then, maybe, I'll treat myself to some reading time.

    1. Definitely should look for Jude's book. It is so awesome and not two windy :) which is important when it comes to historical fiction--at least to me.
