A Visit to Kristina's Desk

It's release week here at Casa Knight, which means a few more random things than usual have taken up residence on my desk...Also, I swear there are fairies living in my house that just leave things around for me.

I could, of course, put these things away, but if the fairies are, in fact, leaving them for me then they can just as easily put them back where they belong. I think the fairies and I are at a standoff. Anywho, here's what I've found this time:

An empty container of Ice Breakers cinnamon mints. I'm fairly certain I've thrown the container away at least twice now, but it keeps coming back. Maybe the fairies are hoping I can work some crafting magic and turn it into a house?

Seven pennies, two nickels, a dime and five quarters. Apparently I needed change for something? It's in my little daisy saucer, along with a couple of strawberry binder clips and my MultiSport watch. And 2 Hershey's Kisses...I'm not sure what it says that I have kisses next to me workout watch....

Speaking of crafting, there is a small, black pouch filled with bebe's wool work. She left it here after we went to a sew-in with grandma a couple weeks ago. My new lightbox (also for sewing) has taken up residence on the corner of my desk. I have the perfect spot for it on the top of my office bookshelves. Of course, I can't reach the top of my shelves, therefore I need RadioMan's help, and I keep forgetting to ask for his help.

A hot pink post-it note that reads Awarken but not before 9438 research. I have no idea what it means, which means I should just toss it, but I keep thinking that I'll remember what I meant and that it will be important. Also, my new planner-fitting notepads arrived - aren't they the perfect shade of mint?

My Avenger's Coaster (thanks, Margie) is still right there next to my computer, and this morning my cup is filled with iced green tea and it tastes like...summer. If only the weather would start feeling like summer!

And, finally, a leather-banded charm bracelet that I made as a giveaway for the Summer of Love giveaway (you could win a book a month for the summer). You can enter here.

If you haven't picked it up yet, Protecting the Quarterback is out now and available in both print and e-formats...here's a little blurb:

This is more than just a game...to her

Sports broadcaster Brooks Smith has always been more involved with the game than the players. But after she shares the spotlight at an awards ceremony with tabloid sensation Jonas Nash, one night of letting her guard down around the infamous quarterback spirals into many heated days and nights together when she gets assigned to the story of the year…
The hottest player in professional football is hiding a secret that could end his career for good. Now Brooks is caught on the sidelines between the job she loves and the man she is falling in love with.

  1. I bought a new computer a few weeks ago (squee!) and thought I'd clean my desk to make it welcome. What I did was clean a spot big enough to set it on...there has to be something wrong with that!

    1. bahaha - that sounds like *me*!! I have visions of a completely organized and cleaned desk...but the reality is, that a little chaos is much less distracting than a desk that is completely cleared of clutter.

  2. "A clean desk is a sign of a sick mind." That's our motto, right? :-)

  3. I have my laptop on a portable table because my desk is too full of sh--stuff for it to have a home. LOL

  4. Okay, I confess to being the odd wrangler out here--my worktable is always tidy, as is my office. I can't stand a mess where I'm working and besides, it's such a small space, a mess would be overwhelming immediately. Maybe it's the copy editor in my, but I need order when I work. I know...it's a sickness...
