Best Laid Plans

 by Margie Senechal

This morning I woke up with plans. Plans to blog. Plans to write. Plans to go to the movie with JV. Plans, I tell you.

And Fate laughed at me.

Fate dangled a new shiny object in front of me before I even got out of bed.

"Hey, Margie, maybe you should think about this new project..remember that title you came up with the other day? Well, here's something to go along with it."

Yep. So, instead of getting up straightaway, I brainstormed this new idea. Because the five or so WIPS I have in progress just aren't enough. I dictated notes on my phone and just revelled in the shininess of the new object. You'd think I was Niffler with a gold coin.

Then JV and I headed out for breakfast and an early showing of Moana.

While we were at breakfast I saw that #PitMad was going on so I sent out a quick tweet about one of my WIP's, Nobody Number Nine. And I got an immediate hit by an agent. I have to write a query, synopsis, and shine up my first two chapters. That was not on this weekend's agenda (in the retail world, whatever days off you have are considered your weekend. This week it's Thursday and Friday. Sorry for the confusion.)

Back to the agenda. I had planned to write on Ana's story after the movie.

The movie started and I thought Disney had decided to go with a fuzzy backstory montage to begin the movie. Not so much. The theater had a bad copy or the projector wasn't working or something. We got our money back and passes for another movie at another time. Mmmm

But, JV still wanted to see Moana. So, we went to a later show at a different theater and didn't get out until after three. By the time I dropped JV off, ran to the store for dinner fixins, and got home, it was almost 4:30.

Plans adapted. Life is like that sometimes. So, about eight hours late, here's my blog. And instead of Ana, I'm going to start drafting a query and synopsis. Tomorrow, I'll work on polishing up the first couple of chapters. Anyone want to read them, let me know...Moana was a good movie. Great soundtrack and story.

And hey, did you hear I got a request??? Life was good today, if unexpected.
