A Few Favorite Places ~ @AuthorKristina Knight

It's release week for my Billionaire Cowboys - Connor, Gage, and Jase have been boxed together...and are available (for a limited time) for only 99 cents! I loved writing these books, and part of that love is because of the setting - Las Vegas.

I love to travel - short trips, long trips (but, really, are any trips long enough?), weekend trips and daytrips. If it involves a plane, train, car or cruise ship, I'm in! I also love coming home, because the best thing about going on a trip is coming home to your own bed and your own chair and your own cooking. We'll ignore the laundry for just a bit.

As I was writing the Billionaire Cowboys Trilogy, every day was like a miniature trip back to Las Vegas, and so the books will always be close to my heart.

Here are five of my favorite places to visit:

5. Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri

I know, this one isn't exotic, but it's home for me. I was raised in a small town on a farm/ranch near the Lake of the Ozarks. RadioMan, bebe and I call Lake Erie home now, but it's always so much fun to go back to Missouri, see the extended family and spend an afternoon or three cruising Lake of the Ozarks on a  pontoon!

4. Chicago

I know, I know, traffic. But the train system is amazing and can get you wherever you need to go without battling other cars or trucks. Plus, there is Navy Pier with all the people watching anyone could ever want!

3. Mexico

Cozumel is one of my favorite places - ever. Seriously. It's warm, the locals are friendly and the beaches are pristine. I absolutely love that I can wear flipflops all day, every day and no one cares!

2. Bermuda

Snorkling! It's a newfound pleasure, and I just might take up SCUBA, too.

1. Las Vegas

There is something other-worldly about Las Vegas. You get a taste of the pyramids at the Luxor, there is a mini-Eiffel Tower, there is Cesar's Palace. And on Fremont, you can walk outside with a neon roof over your head. Street performers will greet  you on the streets, and you can gamble all day and all night if you want...or you can escape the crowds into the desert or the Grand Canyon. It's amazing, and when I needed a place to set my Billionaire Cowboy's series I knew Vegas had to be part of it!

About the Billionaire Cowboys Trilogy:

           What the Bachelor Gets
When Vegas Nightly names local property developer Gage Reeves as its sexiest bachelor, he's barraged with a stream of showgirls, local socialites, and entertainers who all expect something from him. But all Gage wants is to make a success of his new luxury shopping development.

Enter Callie Holliday. Callie dreams of having the hottest day spa in Vegas, but she's saddled with a bad location and an account balance full of zeroes. When she walks into a last-chance meeting with an angel investor and finds herself face to face with Gage, the childhood friend on whom she had a huge crush, she's not sure his reputation is the right match for her business. But then he offers her a storefront in his new high-end retail complex, and she has to admit it's a thoroughly tempting proposition. But feelings she thought were long buried threaten to turn their deal from strictly professional to decidedly personal.

It's risky business gambling on love . . .

           What the Heiress Wants
Denver publishing heiress Miranda Clayton craves more from life than society parties and shopping sprees, but her tycoon father refuses to take her seriously. Her solution? Beat him at his own game by going to work for his top competitor, Connor Reeves, in Las Vegas.

Connor isn't fooled by Miranda's new plan for a second. He knows exactly who she is; what he doesn't know is why she's pulling him into her games. After their first meeting, Connor knows what he wants - Miranda in his bed! But the more he's around his new vice president, the more he wants something deeper than a short-term fling. The question is does the lady want Connor - or his business?

           What the Gambler Risks
Twenty-something ice queen Sabrina Smith enjoys the fame and fortune she's found writing self-help books for a largely female audience. Her readers hang on every word of how the Vegas Virgin - an unflattering and inaccurate moniker given to her by a local shock jock - juggles dating, working, and friendships in Sin City.

And that's why Jase Reeves spells trouble.

Jase knows Sabrina's secret - that she's not nearly as cold as she would like people to think - and he's through keeping it. He didn't intend to have a one-night stand with the Vegas Virgin, but now he can't get her out of his head. And he can't keep living this lie.

With Jase back at the tables in Vegas, Sabrina has one goal: stay away from the handsome gambler before he melts her career - and her heart.

  1. I am exactly like you when it comes to trips--I never met one I didn't like. Destinations, now...hmmm...Vermont, Ireland, any Gulf of Mexico or Atlantic beach I've been on, Michigan (thank you, Nan), North Carolina...and pretty much anyplace else new and different. There are a few notable exceptions to that, but I don't have to go back to them, so all is well. :-)

  3. NYC was the best and even after six days, there was still so much I didn't see.

On a local front, I love Seattle and Leavenworth, WA. Ashland, OR for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and any coastal town along the Pacific shoreline.

  5. For me, it's the West Coast because that's where the Grandboy, Son, and DIL are--so family time! Otherwise, Michigan--always Michigan (you're welcome, Liz).

    1. I have dreams about the West coast (I think it comes from being raised in the mid-west!)...

  6. I've only been to one place on your list - Mexico - and only to Puerto Vallarta. We've been there twice. I never really considered going to Los Vegas, but my daughter's been there a couple of times and she loves it. I would love to see the Grand Canyon. That's on my bucket list.

For favorite places, I would have to say Spain, and Barcelona in particular. We had a very short stay there three years ago and I'd love to go back and explore. The weather was warm and the people friendly.
